Message from the Chairman

In an environment of rapid global economic change, uncertainties such as climate change and geopolitical factors are affecting corporate business models and the functioning of capital markets. For the asset management industry, how to pursue stable performance while responding to the structural challenges brought about by sustainable development has become key to whether enterprises can create long-term value. Uni-President Asset Management firmly believes that only by substantively integrating sustainability principles into operational decision-making and investment processes can we continue to fulfill our fiduciary duties in a changing environment and create long-term and sound value for investors, society, and the environment.
With respect to sustainability governance, the Company designates the Board of Directors as the highest governing body for sustainability issues, responsible for overseeing sustainability strategies, material risks, and implementation outcomes. In recent years, Uni-President Asset Management has leveraged its existing governance framework to integrate sustainability issues into corporate strategic planning, risk management, and internal management processes. This ensures that sustainable development extends beyond mere information disclosure to actively influence business decision-making, thereby gradually becoming an integral part of corporate governance.
In an increasingly competitive asset management market, we have built a “hidden champion” research team that does not pursue short-term gains as its operational objective. Instead, we choose to deepen our expertise, prioritize fundamental stock research, advocate for long-term holding, and build customer trust. Uni-President Asset Management continues to systematically integrate ESG factors into its investment process. Through mechanisms such as investment analysis, risk assessment, shareholder voting, and engagement with investee companies, we strengthen our focus on corporate sustainability performance and long-term competitiveness. In our role as an asset manager, we aim to guide capital allocation toward directions with greater resilience and sustainable development potential.
In response to the risks posed by climate change, the Company has voluntarily completed its greenhouse gas inventory and third-party verification ahead of schedule and has formulated subsequent carbon reduction and management measures for its own operations. With regard to investment portfolios, we conduct transition risk scenario analyses to assess the potential impacts on investments under various climate scenarios, thereby strengthening the overall resilience of the investment portfolio to climate change.
The Company firmly believes that “people” are the most important foundation of sustainable development. Uni-President Asset Management continues to deepen its commitment to sustainable finance and professional talent development, helping employees enhance their understanding of sustainability issues and practical capabilities, while supporting long-term career development through diverse learning resources and institutional designs. At the same time, we place great importance on employees’ long-term financial well-being and livelihood security. Through the “Employee Benefit Savings Trust” system, which adopts a dual-track mechanism of employee contributions and Company allocations, we assist employees in steadily accumulating wealth and strengthening future financial security.
Uni-President Asset Management will continue to refine its sustainability governance framework and gradually align with international sustainability disclosure trends, including the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, to enhance information transparency. Moving forward, Uni-President Asset Management will continue to leverage its financial influence and asset management expertise to guide capital toward supporting sustainable transition, thereby creating long-term and positive value for investors, society, and the environment.
